Identify the failure first
Read the message shown by the original host. A connection failure before the loader appears is different from a missing-file warning inside the loader. Note the project name, browser, device, and error before changing settings.
The host will not open
Community hosts may be offline or busy after a viral post. Wait before retrying and check the maintainer’s updates. If the address leads to unrelated content or shows a certificate warning, stop and return to the library rather than bypassing the warning.
The loader asks for game data
Some projects distribute only the engine. Follow the maintainer’s instructions for file names, archives and supported editions, using data from a copy you legally own. A random archive from an unrelated website is not a substitute for the required format.
A blank canvas or WebGL error
Try a current desktop browser and check whether hardware acceleration is available. Close memory-heavy tabs and retry once. Browser support varies by project; changing a browser does not guarantee that a port supports your graphics device.
Keyboard, mouse or fullscreen issues
Click the game area before using keyboard controls. Mouse capture and fullscreen usually require an explicit user action. Use Escape to leave capture. Consult that project’s control screen; this directory does not assume all shooters share bindings.
Mobile and saved progress
A desktop-first project may not expose touch controls. HCEMobile is a separate project with its own requirements. Game saves belong to the original host: clearing that host’s browser data may remove progress. Check its export options before relying on local storage.
