Halo CE Mobile — browser guide
HCEMobile adapts Halo: Combat Evolved for browser and home-screen use. Its source supports an owned Xbox .iso or .xiso, copies the maps folder into private browser storage, and documents touch layouts, controllers, local play and online accounts.

What this project offers
The project separates campaign/local play from online account features. It describes editable touch layouts, controller support, split-screen/System Link and remote co-op; these are source-documented features, not cross-device performance tests by this directory.
Requirements
- Your own Xbox Halo: Combat Evolved .iso or .xiso.
- The source says its maps folder can occupy up to 1.8 GB.
- Online play requires an account on the original host; campaign and local modes do not.
How to start
- Open HCEMobile and read How to play.
- Install to the home screen if wanted, then choose your own disc image.
- Let the maps import complete; select touch, controller or keyboard input in the host settings.
Documented controls
| Action | Input |
|---|---|
| Touch | Modern or Original Xbox layouts; editable on the host |
| Controller | Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, MFi or Backbone, per source |
| Desktop | Keyboard and mouse via host settings |
Project-specific loading notes
- The site states that nothing from the selected disc image is uploaded.
- A URL import needs a direct file URL; the source says Google Drive and ordinary sharing pages do not work.
- Export saved games before removing browser data or changing device.
Common questions
Does the project include Halo game data?
No. Its own source says you need a copy of the game and must import an Xbox disc image.
Is an account needed for campaign?
The current host says campaign, split screen and System Link do not need an account. Online play does.
