GTA: Vice City — browser guide
A Vice City WebAssembly port with a game.tar.gz import screen. The host stores imported data locally using OPFS and a Service Worker, and provides separate save-file and player-skin import controls.

What this project offers
This engine port focuses on running Vice City from locally imported data. Its source distinguishes game-data imports, PC saves and player skins; importing a skin does not change cutscene outfits.
Requirements
- A compatible game.tar.gz prepared from data you are entitled to use.
- Enough browser storage for imported game data; the source uses OPFS.
How to start
- Open the original import screen and choose your game.tar.gz.
- Wait for the import and local-storage confirmation to finish.
- Press Start to play; configure saves and skins before launch where appropriate.
Documented controls
| Action | Input |
|---|---|
| Cheat panel | F3 (as labeled by the host) |
| Game options | Use the source Fullscreen and Max FPS controls before launch |
Project-specific loading notes
- The source describes first-import local storage and subsequent offline use. This depends on that host’s retained browser data.
- The current page exposes an archive-download control; this directory does not mirror or distribute that archive.
Common questions
Why does it ask for game.tar.gz?
The source imports game data into browser storage before the engine starts.
Which save formats are described?
The host describes GTA Vice City PC saves in .b or .zip format. Compatibility belongs to the original project.
